Thread: E30 325i tranny leaks.

    Default E30 325i tranny leaks.

    Besides the rear seal, from where else can the 5 speed leak oil? Mine drips from the front of the tranny. I can't tell if it is running down from a leak on top or the sides, or if it is leaking inside the bellhousing. Is there an input shaft seal or any gaskets inside the bellhousing?

    Z. Do you have the stock breather? If you do I'll bet thats your issue, I used a 45 degree fitting from Earls (I dont remember what size pipe thread) Removed the factory mushroom shaped breather, tapped out the hole and screwed in the fitting and attached a 2' length of hose and that took care of the oil burping out of that hole.
