    Default E30 325i 4.27 or 4.45 gears

Does anyone know what year and model came with a 4.27 or 4.45 final drive? I would like to find one in a junk yard to rebuild my 3.73.

4.45 is a motorsport gear set - I can't find one in the US (would have been imported) or Europe right now. 4.27 is an E34 535 auto, 7/90 production and later.

    James,
Thanks for the info. I already have a 4.10 out of an M3, but would like to get atleast a 4.27. I found a LSD out of a 91 535 auto for $400. I'm assuming that the differential won't fit in my E30, and that I will have to rebuild my 3.73 with the gears from the 4.27. I am I right or will the E34 diff bolt right into my E30 325is?
    Thanks again.

You will have to build it with an E30 housing. E30, E28, E23, and E24 housings all fit, nothing else.
