Default What class can I race an E21 320is

Can anybody help me out here. I just bought a perfect 82 320is, and want to turn her into a racer. What class in SCCA can I run it in? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The 82 320i is classed in ITB. Puts you in with 8 valve Golfs, 2002's, Rabbit GTI, Volvo 142, Fiat Spider, napz 200sx, Alfa Spider, Suzuki swift (1300 dohc), Opel GT1900 and Manta 1900, various Celicas, and the 84-86 318i. The 320 is a pretty competitive car in class, all things considered. Volvo's are tough though, especially in SEDIV with Sam here....

Can you do engine swaps and still be in ITB? I have a 323 baby 6 that is good.

NO! Stock engine with OEM fuel injection. A stock rebuild is permitted, headers are permitted.

I have a very good friend that raced an ITB 320i for about 8-10 years in ITB, he was Champion more often than not, good car, a little ham fisted but with the right driver is a solid contender.
