    Default Brake questions/shims, clips?

Put new brakes on car, found the Hawk blue and black on Mazda page, thanks guys/gals!
When I took the calipers off the car recently, no shims or springs on the brakes either side front.
    Do I need these?
I have run the car once 2 years ago for a test day at Putnam park and the brakes seemes fine, (plan to bleed them and speed bleeders in, GTX brake fluid).
Do you guys run them with shims and clips/spring on calpiers?
    Thanks in advance.
Plan to run car at IRP Regional in May 2005.

I don't; it's too many pieces to be fumbling with if I ever have to change pads at the track...

I use the little spring clips that the pads sit in, but not the anti-rattle springs.

I have been using the Valvoline synthetic brake fluid with good results.

Johhny, I use everthing. The shims behind the pads help reduce the heat transfer to the caliper piston face. Do you have good front air ducts that flow air to the center of the rotor so that the air flows out through the veins within the rotor?

The pins that hold the pads on my 240z have clips that hold them in place. I use safety wire on the clips to keep them from falling out.
