    Default Front axle nut?

Anyone have a source for a true castle nut for the front axle? I've always hated these cover pieces.

Christ Dave that requires me to do work and actually look it up. I was hoping someone would just mail me a couple.

    Thanks for the tip...I'll look.

    Chris,
how about sharing the M&C part number with us so that we don't have to double up the search. Thanks.

Chris, be careful, if the Castle nuts are not half nuts you adding to the unsprung weight.

I have to make sure of the thread size first. I did a quick and dirty measurement last night and basically guessed it at 16mm x 1.5. I obviously want to double check before I order. They have several sizes available and they are priced at < $8 for a 5 pack. I'll post the number this week sometime.

And the driver gained 10 pounds this past year so I'm obviously not too worried about a couple ounces.

So I'm a bit slow...but the McMaster part won't work. The thread on the axle nut is indeed a 16mm x 1.50. The McMaster nut has a 2.00 pitch. I saw some castle nuts at Pep Boys the other day but I've put them on probation after the wheel seal debacle yesterday. Guess I'll look elsewhere and keep using the chintzy keeper for now.
