Default Root cause of weak trannys?

I have been racing with the same tranny for 4 years, never needing a rebuild. At the same time, I've been running with a stock clutch and pressure plate. I just picked up a 4 puck, and started to wonder - is an undamped/abrupt clutch the reason transmissions fail on RX7s? Should I still use the race clutch in hopes of speeding up my shifts (and reducing rotating inertia), or am I just going to ruin a transmission?

I think we use a racing clutch, in this case, to better withstand the heat and pressures of racing, rather than speedy shifting.

Might be a little lighter, but that's really insignificant.

I think the shift timing and technique will make the tranny last. Jamming away at it like it's some American lump will bring syncro problems.
