    Default 2nd Gen tow hooks

What is everyone doing for full-bore, pull you out of a ditch-type tow hooks? Before we fab up something, I thought I would poll the group.

    Andy,
Ive got an idea for these. I've been thinking about them also. Let me do some measuring, and I'll email a couple of drawings to you. Once i find a way to make this fit, I think you'll like them.

I welded a loop to the stock tow hook on the front, but it just bends with any significant vertical force..

If I were to do it again, I'd weld a hook onto the front bumper reinforcement (underneath the skin) and cut the skin so it could poke up through.

The stock tie down hook on the rear of the car is very stout. I was drug quite a ways out a deep gravel trap at Mid-Ohio by it. So I'd say nothing to worry about on the rear. But the front is another story I haven't really addressed yet.

You will have a tough time welding to the bumper support on a 2nd gen. It is made of molded fiberglass.

True enough, I thought it was metal but you're right..

Ok, I guess I'll have to look at that some more
