    Default best 1st gen chassis?

Do people consider the 81-83 chassis the best? If so why? I've read that the factory moved the rear pick-up points in 84/85 to make for better handling but it seems that everyone wants the 81-83 for the opposite reason? What is the actual reason, can you make the later chassis achieve the same effect? I also read that putting heim joints in the rear arms make the suspension bind. Do you only put them in the bottom arms or just change to tri-link?

yes, upper links remain, but bushings must be soft.
