The PLAN is to move out of ITS. Our team has 4 RX-7's up here in the NE and one of my team goals was to have multiple drivers winning multiple Regionals/Championships (once this driver gets his act together!)

I figure ITA in a Miata or something RWD. The plan is to fully develop a Miata or 240SX. We are also building a Spec Miata this winter...

Andy, I think a guy like you needs something a little more unique...a car that's not so obvious. In another thread you seem to be very knowlegable, so why not take the high road and get yourself a Fiero?? We can call you Andy "Iron Duke" Bettencourt!

i disagree, i think andy should run a car that will likely get weight added by the ITAC.

Dick - I have added enough weight to MYSELF over the past years to do just that!

No ID for this guy. If I went plastic, it would be a V6!

I think he needs a 240sx with about 145 rwhp. But that is only my honest, objective, unbiased opinion.

The top 3 Miatas were dyno'd last Friday at LRP, all were putting out in the range of 88-90 rwhp. Best I've seen to date on a SM-legal engine is 93-95.

30 more horsepower (+30%) with IT-legal mods is a bit too much to ask for...

    No dream. Very much reality.
125-128 h.p. is presently there in ITA configuration. Yes you have to spend the dollars with Sunbelt to acieve it but
120-125 h.p. is very realistic and relatively affordable with Mike at ISC.
The real issue is overall suspension development and setup, not H.P.
Compare on paper with the fastest Spec Miatas: Take off weight, improve suspension
(shock package, springs, sway bars, camber, etc.) change rear gear, put on Hoosiers, dial it in around the Hoosiers and THEN add 10-12 h.p.
Add it all up together as a package. This should yield approx two seconds per lap advantage on the regular tracks over the fastest Spec Miatas (equal drivers a given), with three seconds per lap on the long tracks (Daytona, Sebring, VIR).
So, if Evans, Fowler, Daniels et al do a 2:41.0 at Sebring, a 2:45.6 at Road Atlanta, a 2:27.0 at Daytona, a 1:25.0 at Roebling, etc., take off 2-3 seconds per lap and you have a very competetive front running ITA Miata. Anywhere.
If ARC or ISC comes up with a funded racer in ITA who can also drive, you will see it.

Tell that to the Honda guys! 108 stock = 91.8 whp using a CONSERVATIVE 15% drivetrain loss calc...125 at the wheels for a built CRX baby!!!

Yup....and can someone tell me WHY these cars are speced at 2140lbs for a p/wght ratio of 17.12?? Compare that to an RX-7 with the same power (good luck!) and a weight of 2380, for a ratio of over 19.

I wish I had HP numbers on other cars in the class that I could trust, but with two exceptions, I think the CRX has a killer ratio, and has the advantage of light weight to boot.
