i depends on what type of races you are gong to run. i have a 12 gallon in my first gen and it will run fo 50 minutes. fine for regionals but would not be good if i ran enduros.

I had an 8 gallon in my previous car, A 10 in my current. The 8 would last till the pit stop at enduros and had some gas left after a Pro-IT. I'll sell the 8 gallon cheap. It survived the wreck, the tin can just needs some paint after years of use. I don't need 2 fuels cells.

The tracks I ran with the 8 were Road Atlanta, Kershaw, and Roebling.

I run a 15 gal. it's nice to be able to go as long as needed, remember you don't have to run it full if you don't want, also I love the ballast, and you never know you might want to run an enduro.
