    Default oil coolers

    I know this may be out the area but, I thought I would try here. I need some feedback on oil coolers. I have a first gen rx7 (gt3)with a street port and have been told that a stock cooler wont keep it cool enough.Any suggestions? Thanks

    The answer is: It Depends. Are you using the oil cooler mounted under the oil filter? (1983-1985) or the one under the radiator? (1979-1982). The type under the oil filter is OK for a stock engine, but should be replaced by the "radiator type" for any high-performance use.
