wheel offset - please advise

i'd like to order my new wheelset today or tomorrow. here's the deal. this is for a '90 rx-7. ITS car. i've been looking at the kosei k-1 racing. i want to save as much $$$ as possible, but get a wheel that will last. i called a local race shop and they said i need to run a 20mm offset wheel, i.e. custom. they recommended either revolution or panasport. panasports will be about $215/ea. or, i can run 38mm offset w/ spacers and longer studs. which way do i go. i'm running coil-overs w/ 2.5" springs and 225/50x15 tires.

Koseis are also available in a 28mm offset. They're not the standard wheel that you can order online at Tirerack but they are available.
