Default Thanks everyone, tomorrow's first test day

Let's see how this sucker goes

Feels very strong, brakes great, sounds good, rolls a lot (no swaybar), I think we're in good shape.

Well, first test day came and went.. Very surprised that everything kinda fell together, no big problems, everything worked as advertised. Once I figured out my brake bias adjustments, braking was firm, straight, and never faded the entire day. Mostly put time on the engine, getting that broken in (0 mile engine rebuild), not much I can really tell on the suspension until the swaybars are on. The car doesn't quite want to turn in, but once it's in, stable, slight understeer, nothing exciting or dramatic. Tire temps tell me that I'm over inflating the rears (5-8* hotter than the inside/outside), even when I got the pressure down to around 37 hot.. I'll play more with that during the next session.

Next up, rework the radiator, get the electrical cut off switch and fire system installed, and start my HPDE licensing..

Your car is quite pretty. I'm painting my wheels that yellow. I see the PS1 on the side. Did you test with NASA?

Nah, I ran with a street car club (Northern California Racing Club)..

The car is going to run ProSedan with NASA, as well as ITS with SCCA when I can. I'll be out there with you guys next year

Looks great! Funny how you can tear the thing down to a shell, put it all back together and then it just works isn't it.

Found out it sucks to have a good looking car. Only when you finally bend it or worse yet burn it. Don't ask...

Good luck and keep us up to date.

Silkworm, nice looking car indeed. However, I don't see a window net

C Ludwig, Sorry to hear about your problems this past weekend. I won't mention your multiple problems other than to say that I hope you get your overheating problem worked out.

    Nope

Don't see me in a racing suit either.

Of course, this was a street car day, so none of that was required.

I see what you mean by all of that body roll. Did you feel that point where you were about to roll so much that you could take ground samples, then it just hooked, and the back end almost came around? Not fun. You will definately like it better with "suspension". Once you get it, you will appreciate it so much, and will be a far better driver. This I know from experience.

Got a name for your ride yet? If you don't name it, others you race with will.

    Have fun, and be safe.

Really like the color! Partial to it as my first rx7 was that color and my FF will also have some of that yellow in it.

Disadvantages: cars that bright are easily noticed by the powers that be, they also aren't often misidentified.

And while you are getting chewed for the lack of safety equipment, put your visor down!

    Good racing.
