I always use Valvoline synthetic fluid in rear diff (has competition rebuilt LSD). Is there any advantage/reason to add the LSD additive?

Which additive are you referring to? In the stock LSD I used last season I used Redline's 90wt shock proof synthetic gear oil. (the blue stuff) This year I will be running with a 4:88 LSD with comp discs. I had planned on staying with the same oil. It was what Redline recommended.

There are several brands of additive and some OEMs require it in stock applications. I just noticed Mazdatrix sells it as well. Some of the descriptions say the additive when added to the gear oil "helps the slip plates to reduce vibration and chatter or even clunking." Is this something you should use in your street ride but not required in your race car?
Just bringing topic to top of page...still seeking input..
If your car chatters coming out of slow corners, put in the additive... If it doesn't misbehave, don't.
