Racerwholesale parts, Summit, Speedwaymotors...you can go on and on.

Install with drill. Be careful and line things up. Invest in a Unibit Step drill for this (and many other) project.

Summit has the Mr Gasket ones and that is what we used. I prefer the NASCAR style hairpins over the 'torsion' type. Much easier to pull out of the main post/pin. The install depends on the car. MY CRX has retaining plates welded on the upper crossmember to strengthen the locations. The hood was lined up to the pins and then drilled-a dab of chalk or something that transfers will mark the hood for you.

I ordered some catch style hood pins from Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies. Http://www.pegasusautoracing.com
If I remember correctly they where only $19.00 or so. The nice thing about them is you can't lose the pin.

I've got a set from Pegasus and they are nice. Get rid of the stock latch since the cable can break (don't ask how I know....on two different Hondas no less!!!!) and then you are screwed if you have to get under the hood.

I suggest making some rubber donuts (I used a set of used stock rubber traing arm bushings that I had leftover when I switched to urethane bushings) to slip over the pins between the hood and crossmember to keep the hood aligned and snug against the pins, to cut down on 'flutter'.

www.racecareng.com You may want to call Chris Wire or Scott Schillings at 407.629.7400. They are my first and only choice since they most definately treat racers right.

    ...another shameless plug by me
