I got new balljoints from the local deale, but they came WITHOUT the groove for the circlip. The dealer claims the press fit into the knuckle is good enough, but I'm skeptical.
Anyone else encounter this?
Thanks

I puchased the same and got the same answer.
No clip is necessary!!
I have raced a season on mine without problems or movement.
The weight of the car is keeping the press fit in.

Hey, how did you guys take out the lbj? I rented a balljoint remover tool (glorified c clamp) and matched it with the knuckle and it looks like there not enough surrounding knuckle area to put a sleeve around the balljoint and the inside lip of the knuckle is in the way, both make it look impossible to press out with a circular sleeve. can you tell me how you guys remove them?
Never mind, banged it right out and the hub disc pops right off.
Gorilla mechanics at its best.
If a small hammer doesn't work get a bigger hammer, step back ... deep breath & wack it. Sorta gratifying I might add
