vwmann1, what part of the country are you at? What's your "real name" I've got an 1975 ITC Scirocco that's about 75% rebuilt, that's just sitting on the trailer. It has a quaife and that's the only reason that I got it.

Yes I would love to build the Audi, but the PO is building that one.

    Doug,
Glad to see that the search is over. Now get that thing done and lets go racing!

I should be picking up the GTI from the fab shop in the next 2 weeks. Feel free to come on over and take a look at the new cage before you finalize the design for your car.

Hey, between you, Dave T. and I running in ITB - 'CVO Motorsports' is starting to be a reality now

Let me know if I can help in any way.

    Chris

Glad someone was paying attention. If there's anyone in FL looking for a MkIII shell, take a look at...

The guy is a little high (price-wise, anyway) but if you let him keep his pimpy wheels and tires, it might be worthwhile.

He must like those wheels since he had so many pics of them. I don't even want to know how much work it would be to get that wiring straight.

Not so much. Peel out the old dead mess and put in new harnesses. They are surprisingly easy if the interior and dash aren't in. They come apart at sensible locations and if you get them complete out of another car - a rolled 4-door GL or something - it's OK.

Now, is it "bolt on some suspension components and go racing?" No.

Kirk's right, just pull the entire harness from another car. In fact, just take the entire dash setup. Much easier to get the cage in now, just rip all the burned crap out, and then go from there w/ new stuff.

BTW Kirk, I loved that Farside, had it hanging in my cube for years, right new to "When clowns go bad".

If I was in the NE, I'd buy this one and start building the next shell. Or if someone up there wouldn't mind picking it up, I'd give you a handling fee...

...or someone else buy it and make a race car out of it.

Sure seems like a good deal. But, if the car was issued a salvage title in '97 (total), and it's a '94, I'd say there's a fair chance that it was pranged pretty hard in an accident. I don't know that carfax will tell you why it was issued a salvage title (beyond saying it was a total loss), just that it has one.
