Scaling of the car?

I am going to scale the car this weekend, 84 GTi ITB, and I was wondering what some of the numbers that others where able to get. I am looking for your cross, rear, left and right percentages if possible. Thanks again. Shawn

I'd have to pull out the book on my old car (ITB A1 GTI), but I used to try and get 50% cross-weight.

Try for 51-52% LR->FR cross weight. Seems like a tiny difference but you should see a real difference in lap times on a clockwise track. Obviously reverse for the lefties. You won't feel it, but you'll see it on the watch.

You will get whatever F/R split you get - you can't alter that to any measurable degree with spring perches. You'd have to move components or add ballast to affect any change here...

I'm also interested to hear Bill talk about asymmetrical setups. We used them on the Renaults to pretty good effect but they tend not to come up in conversation in the IT crowd.

what would be your setup for slimerock?
what would be a modest rear toe setting there (with spherical brgs); agressive? What other pearls of wisdom would you have for an old fart? Phil

We consistently run asymmetrical setups, even to the point of weight jacking between sessions to affect the handling for current conditions...I thought that was the norm...?

in my sidepocket are 2 "U" shape alum shims that drop into rear spring pockets with corner jacked.
