    Default Installing shift light

I want to mount my new shift light on top of the dash - is there anything underneath the vinyl that will offer a solid mount to use some screws or should I bolt it?

Also, what might be a recommended rev limit for a mostly stock GTI engine? Redline is somewhere around 6700 I think, do you guys usually set the light to come on a couple hundred rpm before the redline?

    Thanks,
    PJ

    PJ,

The best thing to do is get to a dyno. Study your power and torque curves and THEN set your shift light to maximize your time in the zone.

If the shift light does'nt weigh much, Velcro is fine! (I have the SPA shift light and all I use is velcro)

    PJ,

But I would guess that your not making any power above 6,000 rpm.(legally)
I heard a "rumor" that they had a portable dyno at Limerock this weekend and a 1.8 rabbit GTI did NOT make power above 5,800 rpm
