    Default itb golf rules

    I have a 1990 Golf GL 4 door that I got for a good price and would slowly like to prepare it for ITB. I know that backdating / updating is allowed in IT. I have seen lots of people take a base GL 2 door and update it to GTI specs. Can I do the same to a four door even though it never came so equipped? The only major difference is the tire size (factory 13") and no rear discs.

    There was a 4dr Golf GT was there not?

    The specs of all '88+ Golfs are identical with the exception of the gerabox ratios.

    You don't need rear disks in an ITB car.
