Rings

We have to do a rebuild on the 16v.
Does anyone have any reccomendations on brand of rings?

Any pros and cons?

We will be using the stock pistons.

Jack--Anything new and file fitted will work fine.

I like Total Seal because I can get them in "file-to-fit" sizing. Speed Pro are good and so are VW.

Remember that the honing of the block is important with the particular style rings selected.

Our tests show stock cast VW rings make as much power on the dyno as any trick aftermarket rings. On a normaly aspirated motor no compression gets by a properly sized ring.

Don't use chrome, use cast.
