Default Pedals and heel toe and clutch pedal travel

I am new to really driving....you know heel toe down shifting and really shifiting on the track. The car in question is a 88 Scirocco. Here are the issues.

Seems like the clutch has tons of travel...it would be nice to not have to lift my heel off the floor to actuate it. Do you guys have any ideas...I do have size 13 feet.

One other thing what kind of pedals are people using that will help with heel toe shifitng?

Do you guys just fab up a dead pedal or is there one that I could just buy that works well in a VW?

    Thanks for your opinions.

    Mike

Your excessive clutch pedal travel is probably due to the infamous VW self-adjusting clutch cable. Try retrofitting to the older manual style.

In setting up the pedal heights, the most important thing is DON'T LOWER THE BRAKE! Try to do all height adjustments at the throttle pedal.

    Thanks for the reply.

I solved my problem with adjusting the gas pedal height and also getting some cheap aftermarket pedals to move the gas/brake closer together.
