Default Wright Device H&N Restraint Testing Contributions

    Head and Neck Restraint Raffle!!

Thanks to generous donations, I am happy to announce a raffle for (3) head and neck restraint systems. Gregg Baker has donated (1) Isaac Intermediate system ( http://www.isaacdirect.com ) and Jay Wright has donated (2) different systems.

This shall be a limited ticket raffle, broken down in the following manner:

    1) $50 per entry for the Isaac Intermediate Device. Multiple entries are allowed. Maximum of 100 entries in the raffle.

    2) $30 per entry for a Wright Device Pro. Multiple entries are allowed. Maximum of 100 entries in the raffle.

    3) $20 per entry for a Wright Device Shoulder Harness. Multiple entries are allowed. Maximum of 100 entries.

All money raised will be donated to Jay Wright and Over 40 Racing for SFI testing of the Wright Device. For more information on this, or for a breakdown of how the money was used, visit http://www.over40racing.com.

Additionally, donations shall be accepted directly if you would prefer that route instead.

To enter, simply PayPal ( http://www.paypal.com ) the appropriate fee to planet6racing (at) yahoo (dot) com and indicate in the subject/note area which raffle and how many entries you would like. If you are making a donation without entry into the raffle, just indicate that as well and I will take care of it. I will keep a running tally of the money earned in this thread and who is entered in what raffle.

A note about CC payments: Paypal does take a certain percentage out for them. So, the running total may not be reflective of the total of the donations as PayPal is taking their cut.

Drawing to be held on March 31, 2005 at 9:00 pm CST! Winners shall be notified by e-mail and posted here.

    Thank you!!

Well, Gregg upped the "ante" for this program:

Yes, that's right, there is a FREE Isaac Intermediate on the line! Donate whatever you feel is appropriate and get your chance to own one of these great devices!

What do you folks think is an appropriate price for a raffle ticket?

    Jay,

Unfortunately, this subject is on more than one thread.

Just so everyone is clear, our offer is to fund 1/2 the cost of one test. That's $1,250. There's still $6K+ to go.

Always with raffle tickets there is this sort of math.

OK, lets be like SCCA and get a GCR on this..

If I donate any amount, do I get a raffle ticket?

How about if I donate $15 I get one ticket, and if I hit the $50 mark I get 4 tickets?
(and abviously 2 for 30, etc, the "carrot" being $50...)

(I used the 15 amount as Willim Trainer has already opted in at that level)

    Bill,

I have sent $21 assuming Paypal takes a 5% cut off the top.

I am happy to announce that the "Anonymous" donor ($250) has donated his (5) Isaac Device raffle tickets to the next (5) people who donate $50 or more toward the cause. So, it would be possible to get (2) chances at the Isaac system for the price of (1)!!!

Cool stuff, Mr "Anon"...whoever you are.

Somehow I doubt it's somebody like Dr. Hubbard or Melvin, although I suspect they could drop a lot more from their pockets on the way to the bank and never notice....

(Thats my way of saying that I think that this "grass roots effort" is a col deal...)

Just had a thought (which is usually when the trouble starts).

Jay has posted notice of this raffle on a couple of boards, so it would only be expected that folks who are natural competitors would compete.

How about one of you runs over to, oh say, specmiata.com and very politely and diplomatically announce, "We've donated more that you turkeys!! Pffffft!!"

    Jay,

Do you know of any results for products that have been tested under this protocol? Trevor has something, but makes reference to NASCAR as the source.

    Just curious.
