    Default CSR/DSR Chassis Builders

Is it possible to build your own chassis for these classes? The way I read it, if a PE will sign off on it, it should be good to go. But, I just want to make certain before I start letting my mind wander...

For that matter, could I build my own Formula Continental?

My car is literally in 101 pieces and I'm already starting to think of other projects to work on...

One would think it would be okay, although I'm not sure I'd want a PE who was an EE doing the signing.

Where is this in the rules?

Before you get too far into this, keep in mind that a used CSR can be had for about $30K.

Or buy a used FA and put bodywork on it. Also, some of the recent 'production' SR cars are configurable for either CSR or DSR (Diasio and Radical come to mind).

What does an FSCCA cost? Talk about a convertible.

Yeah, but where's the fun in just buying a car? Heck, anyone can do that!

I knew this was where this was going. There is a reason Bill's car is in 101 pieces. It's more fun that way!

Hey Bill, here's the scenario you ought to shoot for:

    1) Design your very own race car from scratch.
    2) Get your PE registration.
    3) Sign off on your very own race car!

Hey, it's your life on the line. Who'd complain?

Either that or bribe some PE with homebrew.

Hey Gregg, today I finished puting together a 4 wheel ATW for my Grand-daughter. It's really cute with the big a$$ed tires & red paint. Ya want to sign off on the deal so that we all know that it's safe for her to use ?

    Have Fun

    Snook:

I did just that yesterday afternoon. Then, I went home, looked in the garage, realized how little room I currently have, and started putting my transmission back together. Maybe if I could just get one project done...

Yeah, but with something as small and light as a DSR, you could just hang a couple of pulleys in the ceiling and hoist the thing up out of the way when you don't need it.

Still gives you the entire floor to spread out the Saturn parts....
