Default If money were no object....

....what car would you race? I was thinking about this the other day. Since I am still financially challenged (stinking wedding... just kidding!), I have decided to race in my imagination for the time being. So I thought, if money was no object, what car would I race? So, I decided I would definately start out in IT and then move on to Speed WC GT. Here is what I came up with:

ITS: Proabaly an Alfa Romeo Milano Verde. Gotta love Alfas, and that thing is a beast. Of course, I also think that the VW Corrado SLC would be fun too.

ITA: Dont really have a car that I love above all others.....

ITB: Suzuki Swift GT, Any of the Alfas (especially the 75-79 Alfetta GT), Ford Pinto (dont ask, I dont even know on that one. of course, you dont need any kind of money to race one of those)

ITC: I said money was NO OBJECT.

After that, I think I would look into World Challenge. Id spend un-Godly amounts of $$$ on prepping an Aston Martin. Hehe.

What about the rest of you?

1988 Audi 200 Factory Trans Am car... If anyone has ever watched these cars then they know the noise from the turbo's are unresistable... more so than our Audi's rumble...

or any other Audi Sport (Factory backed Racing car).

Maybe it is a good thing that money is an object. I'd have a hard time coming up with one car.

If it had to be a pavement car with fenders: a Ferarri 360 Modena Challenge, quickest, best handling, best stopping fendered car I've ever had the privelage of driving at speed on a race track.

I'd love to try my hand at a WRC car.

Then again, I'd never done a desert race and giving the Herbst folks fits in a trophy truck at BAJA would be cool.

Lastly, give me a Ferarri F1 car and no team orders...

Would a R8 be legal for ASR?
Or any of the LS1 powered Daytona Prototypes?

But for the supreame confort in a race car today it would have to be a CTS-V in T2.

Porsche 917 or a number of the IMSA GTP cars will replace the 360 Modena in my previous post...

I wasn't thinking outside the box and only considering current cars.

For that matter some of the Rally cars of yesteryear would be prefered over todays' WRC cars.

I second the vote for the Ferrari Modena, in the Challenge series.

But....some of the P3 Ferrari sports car prototypes with the V12 engines from the 70s might be a sweet vintage drive.

Also, the Porsche Supercup looks like a nice series....faster than my 911 that's for sure!

    But money no object?

I would go to Marenello, and spend a week getting the current F1 Ferrari up to a speed that ould approach respectability...or maybe three weeks!

And on the final night I'd have Little Feat come and play a set list of my choosing... which would include Birdland" a song I doubt they have ever done.

Being mega rich could be cool!

If you guys painted your cars brown, people would be handing you packages and asking for tracking numbers!

if money were no object i would have a jay leno sized warehouse full of assorted vintage and current race and rally cars.
but truth be known i would probabaly drive every cool racetrack in the americas and europe including the targa newfoundland and bathurst in austraila in an ITA crx. of course little feat would play dixie chicken for me in my back yard.

For me it would be one of the old Can-Am Porsche or McLaren's. I gotta have power.
If there was ever a F1 of sports car racing the Can-Am series was it.

I would race on of the Volvo 850 GLT Wagon touring cars from the mid 90's. Nothing like kicking the crap out of BMW's and Mercedes etc. in a grocery getter.
