    Default Parts Request

Anyone know where I can get internally threaded aluminum (or steel I guess) tubing for making endlinks? The only stuff I can find is for 3/4" heims and I need something smaller like 3/16". I can get the heims no problem, but just can't find the tubing.

    Thanks,

    Britt

Why not just buy the right size tubing and thread it yourself?

try a kart, quarter midget or junior dragster shop near you.

Sometimes we can source parts cheaper than we can make them given even a minimum wage rate for our time. But a 3/16" RH an LH tap and tubing won't set you back too much at all. You can even make a spare set.

I made all the drop links for my sway bars on my FF out of 4130. Bought it at Aircraft spruce, didn't tap too easily. Bought a wall thickness that gave me an ID very close to the drill size for the proper tap. Made 4 drop links, buffed them up real nice, set me back about $20 and 1 hour for my time. The drop links were $36+tax+shipping each from a crossle importer.

McMaster-Carr in Atlanta. If you don't have their catalog...shame on you. They have everything, including the threaded tubing you want (I used the 3/8" for sway bar links) in various links. Can search www.mcmaster.com also, but get a catalog!!!

It is my understanding that mcmaster-carr no longer has a printed catalog. I recently bought e-track for my trailer from them. They have a warehouse in Santa Fe Springs (about 30miles from my house) I asked about a catalog while I was there in will call. All 4000+/- pages of their catalog is on their website, search function works very well.

Sorry, I didn't think about it.

I'm not surprised that MM-C has gotten away from a printed catalog. The last one I had (a couple years old) was on the order of 4.5 - 5 inches thick, and it's printed on tissue paper! I assume it's either online, or that you can get a CD-ROM

Ah! Thanks, I found them on there. We have a local Kart shop, maybe I'll go check there. Thank you so much!

BTW thanks to everyone else too, I have a MM catalog, but honestly, I've never tapped and threadded anything, so I don't know how to do it! Embarassing huh? I guess I'll have to go learn now...
