Default Bored at Work? Soem In-Car Videos!

Some killer In-Car Road Racing footage online. Most taken from the American Stockcar Challenge vs ProTruck Championship. Enjoy!

Taken onboard MGR Racing's #27 Ford Taurus at Buttonwillow Raceway last weekend during qualifying. Chasing the North South Machinery ProTruck for 1 of the 2 flying laps during qualifying. Since the ASC/PT competitors are on a limited tire rule, we only run 2-3 laps of qualifying, then park the car until the race.

Taken onboard MGR Racing's #27 ASC Ford Taurus at Arizona Motorsport Park last year. You can actually see our purple car right in front holding him off.

Morning warmup in MGR Racing's #27 Ford Taurus at Phoenix International Raceway earlier this year. Drift it up against the wall, then tip toe through the tight infield section. Pretty fun stuff.

Not exactly in-car but still cool video taken at the ASC/PT race at California Speedway last year. You can see our team cars, the Silver/Blue #44 Chevy Monte Carlo and the #05 White/Blue Chevy Monte Carlo (misses the chicane near the end of the footage!).

David, real clear and good sounding in-car movies. What kind of camera is it? What software are you using to convert it to SWF?

I wish my GP Wabbit sounded that good.

    Tim,
I'm not sure what kind of camera Manuel uses. I can't imagine it's anything more complex than a consumer DV cam. As far as sound goes, those ASC cars are so loud it doesn't matter where the mic is placed!
Here's another one that I had to share it with everybody. Manuel just did another great video clip with telemetry display taken onboard his American Stockcar Challenge (ASC) stockcar taken at Phoenix International Raceway's GrandAm road course. For those of you who may want to use this for your own precursor to running this track, the ASC car is a Ford Taurus tube frame late model stockcar with 366hp (spec engine) running on bias ply slicks and weighs 2,700#. The series runs exclusively on road courses. Take a look, I thought he did a great job:

Video with telemetry for California Speedway Pro Sportscar course:
    http://www.symbolicproductions.com/ITrackv...GR/Fontana.html

Last year's race winner ran lap times around 1:44-1:45 and I heard that everybody got faster this year. This video appears to have been taken during practice as the lap time is 3 secs off.
