Bart Stock Car wheels

Has anyone used these wheels in IT competition? Steel 14x7 is 18 lbs w/ a 4" back spacing. Will they fit the ITA CRX? Are they tough enough? I have heard that when they take a medium hit, they bend. Thoughts....

No can do - 4" backspace on a CRX will stick out past the fenders. A CRX would need something closer to a 5.25" offset to work.

I have heard that they do make a 5" OS for that size, but I can't confirm it.

I've used Diamond wheels in competition, however the 13x6" are a few pounds heavier than light alloys. They seem strong, I've never bent them yet. The FWD versions are much heavier .

Go to Circle Racing Wheels on the net. They have a 13x6 that weighs 12 lbs and is all steel plus has 1/2"dia stud holes with 60 deg seats. Any back space. Most steel wheel companys like Bart and Diamond use 5/8"dia luge holes with a 45 deg seat, that require their 1" hex lug nuts to keep from pulling through. Read the find print. Stock lug nuts are 60 deg. Racing are 45 deg. Woun't interchange.

I've bought 13 X 7 steel wheels from Pete Paulsen for my old Toyota auto-X car. They worked fine. Lug size is 1/2 inch. Any backspace from 2 to 5 inches is available.
Standard weight wheels are 16 lbs and cost $35 each, unpainted.
Lightweight wheels are 14.5 lbs and are $47 each unpainted.
Also available chromed.

This is good info. Racers in our area are having a hard time finding wheels for their race cars. All that seems to be available is 16" & up sizes. They seem to laugh at me when I ask for 13 & 14". Circle Track does offer some good sizes and cheap too. The 14x7 has a B/S of 4-3/4". Does anyone know if they will fit the CRX?

Keep in mind, that w/ the short-track steel wheels, you may need a torque plate for FWD applications. This is due to the fact that the torque ring on the wheel is too large, and doesn't sit properly on the hub. I believe this is the reason for the FWD Diamonds being heavier than the RWD versions. When I spoke to them, they said the torque plates added 3-4 # per wheel, IIRC
