Default You get what you pay for!

As racers we all certainly understand this. You don't put wheel bearings from the closeout bin on your race car...

So...

The new forums have cost me a couple hundred bux. This on top of rising hosting costs due to traffic and disk usage mean that the banner ads might not entirely pay for the site this year.

I'm going to ask that members of this forum voluntarily donate to the upkeep of IT.com.
Just a few bux here and there will go along way to making sure this site is around for years to come.

Links to donate will appear on the new forums when they go live.

Me too...I'm surprised we've been free this long.

This site is unique, and worth it...to me at least!

Thumbs down

There is now a Make a Donation button on the bottom of the forums pages.
Thanks for helping out!

There are a few more items we plan to buy like a commercial classifieds ads section and a commercial Image Gallery plug-in.

I think what a good idea would be is to put a "Donating Member" below the each person that contributes to this forum. I've seen it done in the prelude form and it seems to work quite well. People are almost guilted into making donations which isn't such a bad thing. It is also a little nice thing to do for those people who donate to the site. And yes, I'll be donating to the site.

Thats a good idea...

On other sites, I've seen guys write in their own description for their membership...it gets as you can imagine, interesting. "Largest member" is a tame one, LOL.
