It's nice to know I'm not the only one who needs my daily fix.... (and it's even nicer to know it isn't my damned 'puter that was the problem!).

In IE 4.0 or better, go to "Tools > Internet Options" and click on the "Rant" tab. Set "Send standard pissing and moaning?" to "Enable," and do the same for "Always replace profanity with %@#$&?"

You can also go into "Advanced" in that same dialog box, and set your PITA to "Maximum," set "Sour grapes" to "Yes," and move the "I told you so" default to a six or higher - this last one is memory dependent.

Kirk- that is your best post ever. Ok, maybe not ever, but pretty funny.

OK, so what the %^#&$%^$ is going on here?
(On edit, it appears Kirks IE settings DO work!)

Are there power outages in IT.com-land???

Are we in need of $$??

Where do I send the check?? (If this is the root of the problem, then let's just say so!)

To whomever is the wizard behind the curtain running this joint, thanks for the great site, we all love it, and I'm sure we want to do whatever it takes to keep it going.

Now stop that ranting Amy! (I see you fired off another about trailers!...I once took mine to the top and was in a crowd of.....one!)

It appears this thread is where all of the addicts go when the web site comes back to life. Perhaps this is part of some sort of bizzare twelve step program or something.

I can just see the meetings now - "Hi there, my name is Rob, and I'm a racer."

Seems to be an ongoing problem with the box hosting the forums. Notice that the main site shows up, but the forums don't? They're on separate servers. They are, however, both on the network of "Atlanta Internet Consulting".

I suspect they're having hardware or operating system problems with that box.

Ditto. If the banner ads ain't covering the bill, let us know.

Hey, I didn't rant until AFTER it came back up this time! Was this a "pre-emptive SHOOSH"?

Yep, I'm officially addicted. Must have checked every hour.

I say we all go to sccaforums.com / Improved touring board when there's an outage so that we can all get our fixes.

It's back yet again! I feel like a junkie getting a fix...

I tried the Knetsis solution to the site being down several times to no avail - did I miss the grega rant that apparently shut it down again via it's Evile Powers?

Relax, I posted a temporary workaround on vwvortex, so at least a couple of the VW guys should be back on soon.

    Yahooooooooooo!
Maybe it was me this time?

I got kinda uppity in the Mazda section discussing cheaters.

Ill try to keep an eye on it.

And tell those sign installers to call before they dig, or to look where they're cuttin', or whatever!

A totally painful experience. Must be what junkie withdrawl feels like.

I'm going with hacked Vaughan. I've picked up a few infected e-mails the past few days from [email protected] (I think it was.)

    Just FYI.
