Damn... Serra is running. Shouldn't he be dealing with sleepless nights and a teething baby about now? ;-) I know I am.

I can't pre-register at this point, the system recognizes me but wont let me log on... but because it recognizes me it also wont let me make a new sign in name so I am out of luck. I have contacted the web person and he has been trying to fix it for me.

As far as racing... humm we want to go to the first event but not sure if the cars will be ready. some key parts like shocks and brakes as well as forgot we needed to get a physical might become an issue. As far as all the rest of the NARRC and NERRC races this yeat slight $$$ issues I think might come into play and we will be choosing our races accordingly.

for this first race we will register but don't count on us until we actually show up If anyone wants to sponsor the 2003 NARRC 1st and 2nd place ITB cars let me know

    Raymond

PS: Anyone know of a doctor that will give a physical last minute... will travel

    Brothers Blethen!

Oh no you don't !! I have spent considerable sums of time and money over the winter preparing to do battle with a couple of Audi's this Spring. And now because of a couple of last minute snafoo's (doctor's appointments and silly things like brakes and shocks??) you may miss this first race?? I am shocked to say the least !!!!

Or,..............is this the ultimate sandbag attempt?? Make us all think that we may have a shot at being a "front runner" rather than our normal "mid packer" status???

    Cruel Shoes. Very Cruel Shoes.

I, for one, am certain, that we will see you in April - at Loudon - in your Audi's! The disease is way too deep to have it any other way!

    Alan,
So looks like the garage is done?????
Good to see you will be playing this year. Will Mary Kate and Ashley be attending??

    Blethen Brothers,
Don’t feel bad my slacker co-driver just got the car from Connecticut yesterday and it still needs a windshield, belts, oil, coolant, tires, brakes, Annual inspection…and probably a bunch of other things that I “forgot” to do prior to leaving. Plus he had to fix the tow vehicle. BUT EVEN HE REGISTERED.
If he can get to the first race you guys had better make it. What you live like 5 minutes from the track?????? You have Force5 in you backyard…
But I think Alan is right you may be scared.

    Have fun and be safe

We are not scared.... you VW are "farfromaudi" !!!

We will likely be their, especially with all this talk. Also with people like Alen coming back from a year off and Tim M's new car attemt to beat an Audi with a VW... Matt and Eli's bets still need to be broken... We have to go!!! Even if we need to stay up all night working on the cars the last week before the race... thats the Blethen way. Not sure if I will have a quaiffe or what sort of suspension Stephen will be racing in... good thing is we have a couple cars in the driveway we can pull apart Not race stuff and probably blown shocks struts, but we are likely to run like that before we go without racing. Brakes and tires are another issue... big $$$.

Anyone know where to find brake pads for these cars (that will handle racing) at less than $150 a set?

also on the physical issue... walk in clinic... wich one? mine doesn't do that I don't think... can you just walk in and ask for a physical??? I know nothing about the rip off of a doctors world... please advize!!!

    Raymondo me boy;

I, too, know nothing of the doctor world "thang", but I do know that a Nurse Practicioner can give you a physical as well as an MD, so that may give you more flexibility in terms of scheduling an appointment. Also, don't forget that when sending in your application for license renewal at this "late date" that you will probably need to check the box (and pay the money - sorry !) for expiditing your license through quickly.

    good luck !!

So far, 50 IT and SM cars are signed up....that is at least 1/4 of the total entrants. This is going to be a great season!

    Raymond,
I would highly suggest you give the "walk-in center" a quick call before going there. It might make things easier for both of you if you fax-in the SCCA physical document before getting there.

Why do you need brakes and pads? Never knew you actually used them anyways...

Why do I have a feeling that the Blethen's are VERY familiar with 'walk-in" type clinics???

    Can't wait for the race.

If they don't this year, I will make certain Diane and Tim do next year!

What does it cost to get into the NHIS event as a spectator?

    Raymond,
I got two years out of a set of Hawk Blue on a 2800lbs 944. I probably could have gotten another year if I hadn't sold it. (Of course I wasn't exactly a front runner........) Never had a problem with rotors and they did just as well on the first turn of a race as they did the last.

The cost about $110 for the 944 and $90 for the GTi.

Last year we had 153 entrants at this event. This year we are at 99 so far which seems pretty well since we still have until APRIL 10TH to preregister without a late fee. I think Dick or several others will no this but how many cars do we need to get at NHIS to "Brake even".

Like someone said earlier... great turnout of IT cars!
