Default Doctor Familiar with the SCCA Physical

In preparation for my novice permit I'm looking for a physician who is familiar with the SCCA physical exam (racer?). I travel from NYC to Albany often. Any physician to recommend within this corridor? Also, what is a customary fee for this physical?
    Thank you in advance.

    Anthony-

The SCCA physical form is very self-explanatory and requires no special skills or comprehension. It's all basic stuff that they do on a daily basis. Pick your favorite doctor and they should have no problems taking care of you. I did my last one at the local walk-in clinic.

Costs of physical exams will vary by doctor, but you expect something in the range of $75-150.

greg is right this is not a big deal. I call my hmo and ask for a appointment for a "sports physical" that way the help does not get all tense.

I'M GETTING CLOSE TO THE EDGE WITH THIS ONE. MAKE SURE THEY GIVE YOU THE COLORED BLIND TEST. Most Colored Blindness is found in Males. And when they give you a vision test it is the one item they skim over. Not all Doctors but a few. I know what the forms says.

Thank you all for the advice. I especially like the line about having a "sports physical". I'll be using it when I schedule an appointment with my PCP.

The nurse / assistant laughed as she told me to run in place for 30 seconds. That felt kinda weird having her watch me run nowhere.

I would drop off the form before the scheduled visit. That way they know exactly what you need and there are no surprises.

I am a truck driver, so every 2 years I have to get a DOT physical. The last time I had to get one, I brought the SCCA Physical form with me & asked the doc if he could fill it out at the same time. He had no problem with it. So I guess the company I work for is now paying for my SCCA physiclas also.

My standard work insurance covers 1 physical per year - I would imagine that most insurance companies would...
