    Really!!?

I heard the frame was bent! Good job!

You didn't repaint it by any chance....? And move the engine....?

In actuality, we did move the engine, sorta. To make a long story short here is what we did. The hood was caved in pretty good and we couldn't find a 'Ding King' large enough to pull it back into shape, so we left it like that. The frame was also bent in such a way that if we had straightened it out all the way it would have cracked. This presented a space challenge when the time came to put the engine back in but we came up with the ultimate solution. We mounted the engine transversely along with the tranny but the tailshaft posed another minor problem as it was a bit too long. So we removed the tailshaft, took the driveshaft and cut it into two halfshafts, plugged it into the tranny at both ends and connected them to the front wheels instead. The other real problem was due to the fact that the hood was still caved in , we couldn't get it to close because the carb and air cleaner assembly was too tall so we removed that too and replaced it with a fuel injection set up that is set much closer to the engine thus allowing enough room for the hood to close. The car looks pretty good now but we hope that the TECH gods won't frown upon these few alterations and if they do, we'll just have to call it something else.

Side note: I'm planning on arriving Sat morning to shoot the races all day. If you're interested in having me shoot you on track please drop me an email with car # and class so I can add you to my notebook.

Hey Ray, how many Coronas gave up their life for that write-up?

Things are bad when your not even acknowledged in the C possibles.
If it rains (oh please, oh please, oh please), under powered, over weight cars like EXPs may be just the ticket.
All you guys with fresh paint / wax,no need to worry about rain, just look out for "Gile Factor".
Good Luck to all the point contenders,
    Drew

Those darn dirt stockers were a wast of money, now that I have them it never rains... can I return them to Hoossier?

Why don't you take matters into your own hands. Rent one of those crop duster planes and have them dump water throughout the ITA race. Why leave it up to mother nature?

Drew - I thought you were going to show up as "Meg The Hot Honda Babe". For the record Drew does hold the track record for ITC at NHIS (1:19.950), and is always a threat. See you this weekend Drew - I'm glad you are coming.
