Dunn'o. It may be the one Nick Chinopulos played the part of the peanut butter in a sandwich with - between a wreck Pinata and the wall at 8 in Memphis Memorial Day weekend. If it was, it's toast.

<edit> Was it an ITC car or an ITB car? Nick's was a C. </edit>

Any time "Fiat" comes up in the context of IT, I think about how good the 124 Sport Coupe would be as a C car - if one had (a) a yard full of them, ( relatives in Milan, and © infinite patience.

IF that yard full of Fiats was in AZ, and they ran TWO lap races that started at a time convenient to the Fiat owner!

In the early 90's there was the "Fiat from Hell" as they called it, that ran pretty well, er, uh, pretty often anyway, in the Southeast division. 124 coupe. Nice guys, good racers and still there but not in the Fix it again Tony. Nothing like a 124 Spyder with an Abarth exhaust on the streets of Central Florida, terrorizing sleeping neighbors as my friend Bob and I did the 24 Minutes of Altamonte, in February, 1973, top down, heater and blanket....damn and I actually remember some of it........

I agree. Back in the mid-'70's, I had a pair of coupes. I was building one of them for an IT car; then there came this divorce thing . . .. I finally started racing in '91, and NOT in a Fiat.

Odd Balls? How about that Lance Armstrong? Seven consecutive wins!

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

It would be interesting to see a well prepped FIAT run, it looks good on paper. Twin cam, five speed, disc brakes all around. Not sure about the suspension though.

Every FIAT looks good on paper. Now on the road s or race track in America is a whole other story.

no offense meant to the brave fools who have had good luck with these vehicles.

The coupe referred to, I believe was driven my Bill Dent. White/green/red??

My old 124 held the B record at Road Atlanta for a time.... Went to Chicago last year, been searching results but have not seen it. Have the gents name somewhere, but haven't dug it up...

    Was red/black/yellow.

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!

I love our Fiat. It is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. That is one of the most reliable race cars we have. She always runs and runs well.

I do want a Coupe but they are quite hard to come by.

    Isn't she pretty!
