Default Vaughn Scott -- got a Stromberg question for you

Vaughn, hope you are doing well.

Been tinkering with the ZSs on my TR8 quite a bit and have tremendously improved smoothness at the top end and driveability.

Question for you though: one carb simply will not adjust to a non-lean condition. It will come close with the "raise the air valve test," but that's it. Just close.

Any thoughts? Sounds like a leak somewhere?

Yes, certainly does sound like a vacuum leak. Time to do the old standard leak tests... one classic possible source would be the throttle shafts. Amusingly enough, I just took the old Rochester off my Suburban last night for rebuild, found out it's got serious play in the throttle shaft on the primaries! Doh!

At least you can re-bush that carb... I'm probably gonna have to go shopping for a new carb someday... good luck...
