    Default Fuel Pressure Regulator??

I really hate to ask these things here, cause, well, you know....... but I did read the GCR/ITCS.

I want to adjust the fuel pressure on my car, a 1990 CRX. There are hoards of readily available bolt-on adjustable FPR's out there. They bolt to the fuel rail, and replace the factory unit.

Legal, or not?? And, if the answer is no, can I remove the factory unit, and REPLACE it, with an external unit? The only reference to FPR's in the GCR is "an external fuel pump pressure regulator may be installed"

    Thanks everyone,

    Jon

OK, crap, I can hardly see the screen cause of the egg on my face.

I was looking at my 2001 Copy of the GCR.

I'll go looking for the online copy of 2005.

Thanks and have a great day!!!

    PS - So, legal, right.....??

We discussed this over on the Mazda forum because our stock FPRs are integral w/ the secondary fuel rail. Does the allowance of an aftermarket FPR automatically mean you can remove the stock piece if necessary for the new one to work correctly? What if you have to modify the rail? Or even replace it w/ a custom rail?

    "fuel lines may be replaced"

Personally, I feel that the fuel rail counts as a fuel line, so I say go ahead and swap it out. Others may disagree.
