    Default 968's in IT?

Hi, I was wondering if Porsche 968's are allowed in IT and if so which class?
If not what scca classes are they allowed in?

You'll need to get in touch with your local region to see what they offer in the way of region-specific classes into which the Porsche might fall. It's going to vary a LOT around the country.

    Have fun!

The 968 is not classified in any of the 4 nationally recognized classes (S, A, B, C). ITE is a catch-all class with specific rules left up to each region.

The 944S was only just recently classified into ITS as a response to the E36 325i. With the additional displacement of the 968 I don't see it being classified there. Folks have been knocking around the idea of a class above ITS and if that were to come to pass the 968 would be an excellent car for that class.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Hopefully by the time I'm ready to build a 968 racer there will be a nationally recognized class above ITS.
In the meantime I've got an 82' VW sirocco with the 1.7L 8 valve laying around that I've been wanting to setup for IT to gain some on track experience.
Would I be correct in assuming it would be placed in ITC?
Although I've been around the sport since an extremely young age I've only just joined SCCA and have yet to become fully familiar with each individual classes specific rules, so I really appreciate all the help from the members of this forum.

P.S. Geo, its nice to see your building a 944....I've got an 88' 944S as my daily driver and I love those cars!...Its why I'm intrested in the 968 as a racer in the first place.

There is a proposal to move the 1.7 VW's from ITB to ITC, for next year.
