    Default Novice Permit ?

Would completing both races in a "Double" Regional Event satisfy the requirements of the novice permit? (After completing the 2 schools of course)

yes- But you can race under your novice permit until you need to renue... Secret shhh don't submit it until you need to renew your membership and save yourself $55.00 (you will also need to renew your licence at that point and submit your novice info).

So, it sounds like, for the purposes of satisfying the Novice requirements, each sanction number is a separate event?

What Raymond said. No reason to send in another $55 if you don't have to. I think I ran 7 or 8 races on my novice book that first year.

This discussion saved me $55. I mailed my novice permit in yesterday for the upgrade to a Regional license, not even thinking about the $55 license fee I will have to pay in June when my membership is renewed. I called National, and I can pay my dues early, and have my Regional license be effective until June 2005.
