    Default Belts... Again

My belts are dated April 2002. Are they ok for the 2004 season?? How about 2005?

    Thanks

    Assuming they are SFI rated

NASA - expire end of 4/04
SCCA - expire end of 12/04

If you are running NASA, your window net must also be less than 2 years old. SCCA has not yet adopted a time limit on window nets (although I may change mine just on GP's. It must be 10 years old.)

Found out this weekend about the new 2-year rule. Found out just now that Simpson no longer will re-web their harnesses. This really sucks that all that hardware just gets junked! Does anyone know of a belt manufacturer who does offer re-webbing so I won't have to buy the whole thing again in 2 years?

I bought FIA rated belts from RacerWholesale.

    Good for 5 years. :-)

Bill Simpsons new company Impact Racing, will reweb their own belts. They had a trade in deal with a substantial discount on their harnesses when you send in a competitors...

Remember... the 5 point harnesses are no longer good after '07 (I think) and we all have to change out to 6 point min. harnesses

RJS Racing also rewebs their belts; got mine done, cost was about $50. www.rjsracing.com As with the better manufacturers, you can come back later and change out individual components. I had them remove the sternum strap from my shoulder belts when they rewebbed (based on what I learned about sternum straps after I bought them).
