    Default Legal fire suit ?

Does anyone know if a MOMO Nomex fire suit with the following FIA rating would be legal for driving either with or without the underware ?
05.178.CSAI.93 I think it's identified as a crew suit. Thanks.

Read the GCR without any preconceived notions about FIA or SFI ratings and you'll see that neither is expressly required.

If it is not 3 layer or SFI 3.2a/5 rated underwear is required.

I am not familiar with the suit. So you'll have to figure out whether underwear is required or not. A suit doesn't need to be FIA or SFI certified to be acceptable, as long as it meets the material and coverage specs in the GCR.

Personal opinion...wear the underwear whether it's required or not. 5-7 extra seconds for $200...easy choice. You won't have to wash your suit as often either.

You know, I saw the original post and for several hours quashed the urge to reply. Glad somebody else picked up the ball and ran with it.
