Default March Fastrack is out, let the games begin!

    http://www.scca.org/news/tech/fastrack/04-...03-fastrack.pdf

This seem to come up a lot:
"The car would be too fast for IT_ unless it could be handicapped with a weight adjustment, which is currently not allowed by the rules"

    This one speaks volumes:
"Create a new class between ITS and ITA. (Knestis, Rhea) The proposed PCA change would eliminate the need for additional classes."

    I'm quite fond of:
"Allow larger diameter wheels in IT. (Anglade/Rhea) The Competition Board will consider this as a component of the IT Strategic Plan."

Sorry I missed this but the silence is deafening. This is going to require a glass of vino and some time to review before I commit anything to pixels...

Now that wasn't all that exciting, was it?

BMW 318ti Club Sport listed in ITA? It's fat but might well entice a few BMWCCA members into IT. Besides the diff, what does the CS package include?

Re: the request to create a new class between ITS and ITA, either (a) the PCA plan is a foregone conclusion (since it's used as rationale for NOT adding a class, or ( they will revisit the new class idea if PCAs don't happen...

The comments about weight adjustments being "not allowed" is just priming the membership pump for PCAs. "See? This is a good thing. You all wanted it."

I too sent a letter in Nov. regarding a reclassification request. I'm trying to be positive - it is a good thing that they haven't denied my request. It takes a few minutes to deny it, but longer to accept and impliment. Yeah, I know. Wishful thinking, but it could happen.

Dave, they are waiting for PCA to respond to our requests. Yeah, that's it!

A 1.7 Rabbit/Scirocco will be 'too fast' [sic] for ITC. That's just downright hilarious. That coupled w/ the nonsense about not being able to adjust cars' weights when they're re-classified has finally convinced me that the people making the decisions are so clueless, that they couldn't find their collective asses w/ both hands and a flashlight!

How long do they expect people to keep swallowing the BS they're shoveling?

I realize now, I've been going at this all wrong. I've been going at this from a position that assumes that emperical data and logic have any value at all. Silly me!

Darin's hard work has the CRB looking hard at this. We are breaking into some of the 'old school' stuff that is commonly discussed here. The ITAC is hoping the CRB will allow us to start recommending some class moves coupled with weight changes. They just need to soak up the interpretation and throw out the commonly accepted 'history'.

    No AWD at this time

At least the BMW might get some BMW CCA members...

    Andy,

If these people don't know what the rules are, they have no business making decisions. BTW, I wonder how many letters they'll get telling them that they're wrong? If I gave half a shit about this stuff anymore, I'd write one.

17.1.4.B - INTENT clearly states the following:

"Entrants shall not be guaranteed the competitiveness of any car, and competition adjustments, other than reclassification, are not allowed."

GCR 17.1.11 - Change of Specifications, states:

"Specifications on cars classified for the first time, or reclassified, may be changed on thirty (30) days notice during the first year of competition if the advance estimates of performance are grossly inaccurate."

Just had an interesting thought. Since the latest BS from the CRB says they'd move the cars if they could adjust the weight, and since there's a provision in the rules for adjusting the weight when the cars are reclassified, I guess we can all expect some reclassifications comming soon.

So tell me Darin, where does it say they're allowed to change the weight 2/3/4/??? years after the car is classified? Oh, wait, they do it as a 'correction' [sic]. What a crock of shit!

You know I have tried to just keep my mouth shut here but I find that is not possible....

Bill, If you can fix the whole system then put out your plan on how to get it done. I see a group (not just Darin) that is actually communicating and trying to effect positive change. So your constant jabbing is only working to make you look like a jerk. I may be the only one that is tired of it but I doubt it.

    I'll second Joe on this.

Bill, you quit IT racing and went to production, presumably because you didn't like the rules. Why do you keep fighting here? You've already moved on and if you have fully prepped your car for production, it would be very difficult for you to come back.

This is not the SCCA of old (of which I am not familiar). The CRB and ITAC are actually discussing making IT more competitive which goes against everything that you say has been done before. I'm sure this is not something that can be done overnight and they want to make sure they get it right, lest they give the dissenters more ammunition to say "I told you so."
