    Default Mounting aluminum seat

I searched, but I didn't find a nanswer to this one.

When I'm mounting an aluminum seat(Ultrashield Rally Sport), can I just drill holes through the aluminum for mounting bolts? Aluminum is pretty soft, I didn't know if you need to do anyhting special to prevent the holes from "ovaling out".

    Thanks,
    Neil

When I mounted mine (both of them), I used 1/8" x 2" steel strips as a gusset across the top and bottom side of the mounting holes - 1 strip per side with the seat as the "filling" in the "sandwich". I drilled through all 3 pieces of metal, and used grade 5 bolts and fender washers.

Ok, thanks. That's similar to what I was thinking of doing.
