    Default AMB system

160 vs 260: Are they both suitable for Road Racing? Where is the cheapest place to purchase one? (I race with VARA and they don't sell them, they rent them).

You need a TransX260 for SCCA racing. The 160 is used for Kart racing as in go carts.

You can buy it directly from AMB. Hope this helps.

Also keep in mind that there are 2 versions: hardwired and battery powered. We are using the 260 hardwired mounted inside the passenger front splash shield where the airbox resonator used to be. I did cut a very small opening even tho they say you do not have to.

I saw on the website (amb) that the 160 was good for uses upto 160kmh and the 260 for 260kmh.

I had checked on ebay the other day and all I found was the 160. I never noticed a model number on the ones I have used but they were always red.

Is that the visual difference between the 160(yellow) and 260(red)?

Any regions out there selling them to non-members for less than $250(rechargeable).

    How about retailers?

The car that I race doesn't have a charging system. It also has a very small battery so the fewer devices I run off it the better. (even if the current is only 50mA).
