I have just picked up a DL1 with Dash3; have also used Trackmate in the past, and have used AIM systems for a good 5+ years now as well.
The RaceTech stuff is definitely more advanced; that's why...
Yes she is!!! :026:
But she's not willing to do it at the IT-Fest, explicitly.
She's nowhere near as aggressive a driver as I am (as everyone will be glad to know! LOL)
I've tried...
Very cool!
Hey now, I resemble that remark! :026:
:D
Submitted my info - good work!
So true; I'm running spring rates approx 50% stiffer than anyone else with my kind of chassis (including the 944's). Got quick hands. My teammate's car has a more conventional, softer setup, with...
Ah, you think struts are confusing - you should try tuning torsion bars sometime... ;)
I think it was Sir Colin Chapman who once said "any suspension can be made to work well once you stop it from moving." Most appropriate as relates to struts... :D
LOL - look on the bright side, you only have to do it once!
Per car, anyway... ;)
The one thing that's "off-base" would be the issue of getting stuck with the belts; cornerworkers carry knives that make short work of the belts if needed.
The issue of trying to deal with pins...
There are different flavours of the pins available; I have the older, more costly style with the push-to-pull pins, where the center button must be pushed to release the pins. As I recall, straight...
Of course, that's a helluva gamble to take these days, with your own money...
I always wear a balaclava, even w/o facial hair; it's a great way to keep your helmet from getting quite so badly funked up.
Don't forget that, at least in any enduro rules I've ever read/used, that the driver has to be out of the car when fueling anyway...
I'm not entirely sure if I understand... are you talking about can you use a remote fill valve or do you have to use the one on the cell?
Either way - realize that it's financially and safety-wise...
So... no change on your end?
I'll be getting my vote in for, with the addition of trans etc mounts too...
Sorry, I get confused having to shuffle the different rulebooks in my head...
Following up - yeah, I definitely would not support a rule that would add thousands to the build of my car and plenty...
Huh? Who said that?? Did I miss something?
For the record - I do agree with what you're saying... 'cept that SFI reference. ;)
LOL...
Having now to deal with a cell for my DSR, I'm glad to have never gone there with the IT car... massive extra cost etc... they all have to be SFI or FIA now, right?
Excellent letter, Dave, thanks very much...
Best of luck going forward, and thanks for taking on the thankless task. I'm sure we'll be talking more... ;)
Not sure I'm missing a smiley face... but yes, by all means voice your opinion either way! I was trying to make exactly that point - now is no time to be silent and hope that others will speak for...
Agreed, and that's the open risk. But there are other open (non-internet) forums we can continue the discussion in.
Mickey, and any others out there in a similar position: hope is not enough!!!
