I went from 4:30 to the 4:88 and it's really a huge difference on the track.
The factory gearing is so tall it's dumb. I also don't understand the huge gap between 4th and 5th in the regular...
Thanks Ralph!
I have a Racing Beat pre-silencer on there in the middle. Hopefully this will last longer than your average muffler? Does anyone know this for sure?
To reply to my own query, the Mazdatrix/Racing beat style exhaust with two pipes all the way back doesn't hold a candle hp-wise to the single 3" with two mufflers inlne.
Cuz I switched and while I...

I think you can take it out. The rules say you can remove all hatches and stuff. (Too lazy to look it up, but it's there.)
The door on mine unscrews easily, so to me this does not seem like...
Two pipes all the way back. Two center presilencers and two mufflers in back.
This is not the best hp-wise, but it's pretty quiet even with straight-through mufflers.
I have another idea to lower costs.
How about if you have to get a shock qualified before you can use it?
The ITAC would have a general rule that shocks should not cost more than say $500...
And I second checking the classifieds here often. I have gotten some really good stuff from there!
You don't NEED the bearing kit for the control arms.
I would probably get this suspension stuff in this order:
Rear steer eliminator bushings
Threaded body coil-over shocks. (Probably...
Ok, thanks!
Here's a quick follow-up. PRACTICALLY speaking, is it worth it to re-tune the ECU when going from one kind of high-flow exhaust to another?
I'm not talking full-stock with cats...
How about a claim rule for shocks? You can buy anyone else's shocks for $2,000 after any race.
I would certainly sell mine for that!
Alright nerds, thanks for the help.
Anyone with a 2nd Gen Rx-7 have any input?
Are most people running their exhaust under or over the rear axle?
I think that the argument FOR RR shocks is not really a good one. All Jason really said is that you can spend a lot on non-RR shocks, too. So why change it then? Everyone already has non-RR...
I built my car and while I like my car a lot, it's taken forever to get it right and it costs way more than you could imagine. Used race cars can be really cheap....
I think that AWD would be much easier to account for in the Improved Touring formula than a turbo or supercharger.
I think AWD would be great and a fun addition.
I'm curious as to what percentage of IT cars are running fuel cells?
I've always thought that the stock tank was in a pretty good location on my car and the added complexity of changing it out is...
That is a super cool car. Here's to seeing something different at the track!
Just spoke with Nick at Flatout. (Thanks Nick!) Who let me know that the AD shocks and the Koni shocks are different at the bottom, and the Koni/Mazda Motorsports mounts won't work.
So I guess...
Yes, this seems right. I noticed that Flatout sells these as well. So the question now is whether or not the Advanced Design shock holes are the same size as the Konis.
Anyone?
Oh good. Hilarious. Anyone with another viewpoint of these shocks? I spent a lot of money on them! Help me out here....
I got some used Advanced Design shocks and struts a while ago and I'm finally getting around to putting them on my second-gen RX-7.
The problem is the bottom shock mount in the rear, where the...
That header looks really nice. Any clue on whether or not a cross-over pipe would be a good idea on an ITS car?
Yes, exactly. If it were me I would just pick up the Spec Miata stuff to start with. You can always go from there to ITA pretty easily if you wanted.
