Greg that to me would be throwing the whole process out the window, I say class em with the process with a "as determined by the ITAC adder" and call it a day.
E-mail sent supporting the idea.
Either way the engine is connected to two points on the chassis.
I do like the idea of only allowing manual transmissions and no ABS for the reasons you stated to keep it about the driver, those are excellent points I had not thought about it would suck to have to...
:(Sorry Kirk that was a low blow.

It is interesting that you bring this up I often find myself looking at the older cars in IT to avoid all of the hassle that getting a newer one causes. As someone who removed the ABS from his car...
I was expecting Kirk to say "when I am King aftermarket cam gears will be legal";)
Have you ever heard of open road racing in nevada were depending on safety equipment they give you a target speed to maintain for the whole 90 mile run. It is done on closed public highways and your...
This Idea I LOVE! If you did this with ITR instead of ITA you wouldn't really have to change the cars that are already running 328, TSX, etc.
OK guys we have been having a lot of deep rules discussion lately I was thinking it would be fun to list what would you do to the IT rules if you could write new IT rules again today.
keep in mind...
I think the problem with dual classification is really upping the work for the ITAC which they already have plenty of.
+3 for Kirk's solution
I would have like a choice that said "leave the width rule as is for all classes but make the diameter free."
The only thing I don't like about the fire system (which is what I have been using) is that it is the all or nothing approach. If i had the need for ballast I would probably have both.
Exactly. If ITB allowed 9" wheels from the beginning no big deal, a change now after people have picked cars based on the rules is not good IMO.
I did run some FWD weight balance numbers in this thread

Post #174 It is not the same car or track but should answer your questions.
Keep in mind all the cars in this simulation were RWD.
There may be a time when it is too hard to find 6" wide wheels and it may be hard for some right now, but I honestly don't think that as a category ITB is even close to this being a big enough...
OK so I know some of you guys don't like LapSim but I decided to run some simulations with a 2500lb RWD car.
Here are the results.
Watching the simulation it looked like the rear weight...
Best article I have ever read on TQ and HP. :023::023:
I also understand the adder but do not agree with it either.
It "seems" like no one agrees with it. Is there anyone on the forum who thinks we should include weight bias in the process?
My...
ok are there any front or rear engined cars in ITB that have as much or more rear bias. I am asking because if it is a weight balance adder the first thing to figure out is if it is being applied...
Let's start by listing all of the mid-rear cars in IT factory weight balance. Let me know if I missed any. I don't know much about Porsche I may have missed a few of them.
Toyota MR-2 (90-94) ITA...
Guys instead of beating up on Andy if we don't like this, how about we put together a proposal to get it changed?
But I have to ask is it the adder we don't like or the fact that it is only...
