I’m looking for a body shop with a frame machine anywhere between Albany and Lime Rock that’s racer friendly. I’d like to try to straighten a slightly off tail section on my newest acquisition. TIA
I thought Volvos are indestructible. What's this talk about exploding motors? :o

How about turbos? Almost all AWD cars are turbocharged.
Thank you for the response. Everyone is telling me that the '71 came with 3 lines but mine is definately a 2 port unit. It might have been modified at some point. In any case I think this give me a...
I'm finding out the hard way what it means to be racing an old car. It looks like the fuel pump on my 1971 142 (D-Jetronic) called it quits. I looked around for a replacement and what I found was...
Hi Gary,
Thank you very much for the great information!
Email sent.
I'm looking for suggestions on wheels for my (soon to be) ITB 142. I understand that 15 inch alloy wheels from the 242 are popular but I'm having a hard time locating any. Are there any others to...
For the benefit of those of us less knowledgable with this issues, can someone talk about some of the specific reasons that drove the recent resignation?
Unless you back date it to pre-83 specs, ITE is the only class. Join the club!
Hi Gary. I'm familiar with IPD. I've bought several things from them over the years but only for contemporary Volvos. I exchanged emails with Bob G. and I have his product list. Also I've come across...
Nat, thank you for the information. I'll drop Bob an email.
I just aquired a rust free 1971 Volvo 142e that I plan to turn it into an ITB/Vintage racer. I'm looking for sources for performance parts and advice. Any suggestions?
TIA,
Anthony
Back to the original question: to sleeve or not to sleeve.
Both have pros and cons. Sleeving (dry) is a common procedure that many good machine shops can handle. Cast iron sleeves are fairly...
Any common problems with the VR6 motors? How well do they hold up with high miles? How about transmissions?
In the GCR the Corrado and the Mk3 look totally indentical. Can this be a mistake?
My understanding is that the Mk3 Golf VR6 is mechanically identical to the Corrado VR6. The GCR seems to suggest that also. From what I can find on the web, the Bildon Corrado had a successful but...
Any opinions on how competitive the Mk3 Golf VR6 could be in ITS?
TIA
The Porsche shop had the car for a week and couldn't figure out why it was down on power. Today three hours with Matt and his dyno and the car runs better than ever! :happy204:
Thank you GA!
Does anyone know the street address of Matt Kessler's shop? I'll be taking my car over to him tomorrow and I just realized that his address is not listed on his web page.
TIA
I don't mean to hijack the thread. I'm wondering how competitive the e30 318is can be in ITA. Any opinions?
I agree 100%. Bad idea not to use sleeves. Aside from the safety concern, the tubes underneath the sleeves do not perfectly butt up against each other. You'll have to weld tubing to bridge them...
I left a VM for Matt.
Thanks guys
