Chis, anything in the works for us S4 owners? May be time to make the swap to a complete s5 setup but I like the simplicity of the S4.

We've participated in every enduro for 2006 in the NESCCA 6 race enduro series (#11 SSM) and have had a blast. We can't for love or money get anyone to post the results todate for the series. I have...
no worries, it's no longer going to be a racecar.
New cam sensor did it, runs great.
Curious what the compression test results should be? Mine are all within 2 psi +- 210 psi, which seemed high for a stock motor with a fresh rebuild.

Are those pictures current? Do you have the Intake snorkel hooked to the AFM? Obviously it needs to be to run. Sorry if that was stupid but you never know?
If that's not the case are the air hoses...
Well it's been almost a year to the day that my exhaust to intake timing chain broke and bent all the intake valves. I have everything back together but she won't run right. Backfires and stumbles...
That sounds like a good point but I am not taking it apart again! I can imagine the valve hit compressing a rod bearing. I'll post the results it should be running in the next couple of days.
BMW RACER, thanks, you confirmed what I thought so i got the head off and inserted the check valve but am waiting on a new headgasket to reassemble.
The broken chain was very strange. An...
I broke the timing chain on my 92 e36 and bent the valves. I am finishing up the reassembly and have an extra part that I now believe goes somewhere on the head (hopefully not under the head).
It...
possible that your front cover lost its oring allowing the oil pressure to bypass into the front cover. In any event that low of oil pressure means you will have to take the engine apart to some...
The depressed clutch pushes the flywheel/eshaft forward and prevents the thin front bearing from slipping down past the spacer.
Sure fire trick that has never failed (for 2nd gens):
The impact...
I've gone north of the border many times to Tremblanc and Mosport and never had a problem until the last time. Returning, the US side wanted proof of ownership of the race car. I used my log book and...
Your problem may be no more complex than leaking injectors. Install a fuel cutoff switch so you can cut the fuel before you turn off the motor. Leaking injectors will allow the residual fuel pressure...
I have used the 2 and 3 piece steels and the 1 piece carbons. I rebuild my own engines and have 1st hand experience that you can break the carbon seals without making a mark on the rotor or side...
Talk to Andy at Flatout motorsports. I trouble shot a similar problem for an entire weekend for a friend of mine and didn't fix it. They took the car and made it right in short order. Obviously the...
I have to give credit to the Flatout guys for this (having bought their car) but a very simple but not obvious sloution to hold the stock window in place for transport is as follows:
After sliding...
If everything is working correctly, I agree with Chris you will be quite rich. I'd first have the injectors cleaned and tested at some place like Marren in CT.
I fought a lean problem last year...
It's in Pit Talk as well as the NER website.
Is LRP really having the NARRC Runoffs on a Saturday, SUNDAY Schedule? I knew they were petitioning to be able to run on a Sunday but I thought it was only for the NASCAR event in case of rain.
I...
If I had to guess based on the uphill work they are doing it looks as if the chicane will be a permanent addition and the only way around.
Typically that sets out the hours for a full day or half day charge ie like lift tickets. Last year to run in the morning you had to pay for a full day $150 or start the half day at 1pm for $100.

Did you run it after you put in the antifreeze? If not the block most likely stayed full of water and freeze cracked.
In any event if it's a bad seal it means a complete disassembly and rebuild....
And if it was fine when you put it up unfortunately you may not have had sufficient coolant in the engine during the hard December freeze which could have freeze cracked a coolant passage and it is...
It gets cold in California? :P Have you pulled the engine codes to see if it has any bad sensors? Does it crank for a long period without even sputtering or does it almost catch over and over then...
Just a heads up I've been chasing a 1/2 gear hub sleeve for a rebuild in a 2nd gen tranny. It is no longer available from Mazda and the cost of a new mold has been determined to be non-commercial....
