Stock pan, baffled, 1 extra quart of oil.
Quaife with whatever ratio works best (3.64).
Fluidyne radiator, no fan.

Did it already fail once?
I'm confused, because this car should pass emissions regardless of whether the computer was reset. Yes, it will run in default mode for 200 miles, but emissions should...

Feel free to drop by the west coast. The tracks are worth the effort. You can easily rent a SM for the weekend at any SCCA race.
At Laguna, the limit isn't usually 92 with SCCA (mostly ~103),...
Here's my suggestions:
Keep your relationship balanced and honest. It helped that I entered the marriage with a race car. BUT, I have sold 2 cars (M3 LTW race car and an SUV) to cover my costs....
If you run at Laguna (often 92, and even 90 db), you have to have both a resonator and muffler (and potentially a directed tip!).
Dan
I suppose the key question is what sound limit are you trying to hit?
I've got similar headers/motor...and with a Bimmerworld muffler (with center resonator), it seems to get in under 92 db (with...
I've seen lots of E36 IT cars (325) with an E36M3 front bumper cover & air dam.
Are these legal? Don't they create/add additional air holes over stock (saying this from memory)?
Dan
Check the compression first. Your old motor may be in need of a rebuild.
Other tips:
clean/replace the injectors, air filter, fuel filter
New exhaust.
Free flowing intake.
From there, the...
If you are inquiring for ITS useage, I don't think an oil cooler is needed. I have run in very hot conditions (>100 F), and the oil temp hasn't exceeded 220. Under more normal temps, it hovers...
My guess is that the inquiry had nothing to do with racing rules, but just "can it work?"
Of course, I don't have the answer. I think it can...and I believe people have put 318 heads onto 2002...
So, if I like wearing a neck collar (for the head support it provides...my neck is less sore with one on), how will I feel with an Isaac?
Or (yes, I know this will be a silly question), can I...
If the E36 should never have been classified in ITS, then what cars should have been? Are only cars that can't win allowed?
At some point, for a series to survive you need to have some recent...
Why 300 lbs? The ballast alone would disqualify any already-built car.
As to your question: my guess (can't be scientific) is that this would put the E36s at the back of the pack (where the E30s...
Given the weight advantage over an E36, this is pretty equal to a near-perfect M50 motor with intake, header/exhaust and chip.
I know from my own results that it is quite a bit less than 215 hp. ...
I don't have any fuel starvation (anymore), thanks to a Bimmerworld fix (shameless plug!!!). ;-)
The consideration is rather just for safety, while trying to avoid to balance issues (and...
Has anyone ever created (or seen) a fuel cell for an E36 in the STOCK location? (not a trunk/wheelwell mounted cell)
Any idea of cost?
Dan S.
For IT, I can't imagine needing a cooler! Even on a scorching day, the oil rarely exceeds 220.
To answer the question, though, Euro motors come pre-tapped for the oil cooler. To install one in a...
The BMW was struck twice by another E36. First at the exit to turn 6, and then again when the following car drove right into the lead car (never lifted). People who were watching the race...
Personally, I wouldn't run your BMW in Midwest Council. It won't last.
They don't seem to care about contact (at least at the last Road America event), and don't have a rule allowing protests for...
I've seen several cars that have had this problem, and pictures of others. My original solution was bushings and reinforcing the welds, but recently went to spherical bushings.
On the topic of...
Question: Are the boards sturdy enough that I can remove/change the numbers? I can't seem to find/use the same numbers in the different series I run.
