Erik,
Good to see you here. Erik and I met at Pocono this year. It will be great to have you back. Have you been able to wipe the smile off of your Dads face since WG? LOL! Erik's Dad bought a Volvo...
Thanks for the input. The Focus looks line a very interesting car. I have a small shop in PA we currently do a lot of CNC work and fabrication. I am looking to get into the Race fabrication,...
I am looking for a little input. I am currently a VW guy but I am looking at the Ford Focus. Any insight into where this car may fit into IT in the future? Any opinions would be welcome.
God Bless...
Thanks to all,
I replaced the brakes last week and got through it pretty well. The tough part was the front wheel bearings but that is done also. They were really worn out, I will keep a closer eye...
Thanks everyone. I will be changing the brakes next week and I may be looking for a little more help, LOL!
Bill,
It was good to see you at Pocono. I don't know if you stayed for Sunday but we won...
I have an 1980 Scirocco ITC car and I am getting ready to change all the brakes, drums and rotors. I assume I need a drum puller for the rears, anyone have a source for the puller?
Thanks in advance...
Thanks. I came into my shop Saturday and made a tool from the description in the Bently manuel. The tool worked great and problem solved. I made it adjustable so it would work with either the 4 speed...
Thanks for all the input. I will try towing it open for the time being. I am sort of shopping for an enclosed trailer but looking for a bargain, aren't we all, LOL! Being a rookie at 47 is tough...
Tim,
Thanks! It has no side windows at all. Would you suggest making a pair for towing? The car is like new and I am trying to keep it that way.

Dave,
That would be great. I am in the Pistolsmithing business and I will use a tool for any job I can, so much easier. We actually manufacture tools for the Firearms business. OK cool, if you can...
Dave,
Do you have any further info on the tool? I will get in touch with Neuspeed today but the tool may be the most important thing for me. Any help would be great. Thanks again.

Jack...
Thanks to everyone. I will try replacing the bushings to see if that will tighten it up. This is a new car to me and I am being "very" gentle with it, LOL! OK great, thanks again.

Jack...
I have a 1980 Scirocco and was wondering if there was an aftermarket shifter available for it? There is a lot of play in the shifter and linkage. I know of the linkage bushing kits but not the...
Thanks Bill. I did look for you at Pocono. I am glad to be with the VW croud, dang I have so much to learn. It is great fun having a new challenge set in front of you. I had some shifter problems...
Test day report.
Test day was great. 80 degrees, sunny and I brought the car home in one piece, LOL! It did go exceptionally well, even on the old tires. Here is what I did.
10 laps on old...
Thanks so much! I appreciate the input. The tires I was told were pretty bad actually have tread showing so they are very useable, that is good. I will run some tomorrow and do a tire change to see...
Tim and Joe,
Thanks! I have 4 fairly worn tires, two fairly new and two stickers. They are all the shaved Toyos. I was not aware you could change rotation. I did notice they have left and right...
I am new to SCCA racing and I have a question about rotating tires to get the longest service life. I am going to be running ITC with a Sirocco on Toyo tires. Is there a system of rotating tires to...
bobpink,
Thanks for the info. I got excited and called about the car, IT WAS SOLD! LOL! I am crushed. What a great deal that was, I would have been set for the year. Was that the correct car for the...
jc836,
Thanks for the info. I am wanting to prep a car like the one in the Tech section in the photo essay. I am that picky, LOL! That car was very well prepaired and rigid, do you know who owns...
I am very new to all of this stuff but I am wanting to build or buy a competitive car. I have been looking at the ITC class. I have been looking into VW but it seems very expensive to build a first...
